He noted that he was not moved by what critics say about his administration because he was aware that, like every
other clime, Nigerians will start to praise him for what his administration achieved across all sectors by the time he must have left office for another leader.
Jonathan spoke on Tuesday when he received a delegation of traditional rulers and leaders from Bayelsa State led by the state governor, Seriake Dickson in his residence at the presidential villa, Abuja.
“The social media that is supposed to be used for positive things is being used for something else. I don’t expect praises now until I leave office. But I will do my best for our economy to continue to thrive despite the challenges in dwindling oil price and the security challenges”, he said.
According to the president, while people do not often give credit to great men when they are still in office, there was no doubt that when a new administration comes on board and people begin to make comparison, his efforts would be appreciated.
