Kaduna APC Chairman Emerges As El-Rufai’s Running Mate

Following the deadline by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for political parties to submit the names of governorship candidates and their running mates, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufa’I, has picked the party’s chairman in the state, Architect Barnabas Yusuf Bala aka Bantex, as his running mate.

Bala, who was among
five persons shortlisted to be el-Rufai’s running mate, emerged after consultations with senior party members, aspirants and elder statesmen across the state where wide range of options were debated upon.
El-Rufai on Thursday stated that Bala was picked as his running mate by the party for the 2015 governorship race.
Bala is a former local government chairman and former member of the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that there was jubilation at the party secretariat along Ali Akilu road, Kaduna, after the announcement of Mr. Bala as el-Rufai’s running mate.
